Check your Policy Wording to see if your plan includes a "Benefit Period." This may extend your coverage for an illness or injury treated abroad for a set period after your return. To qualify, you must receive treatment outside the U.S., file a claim with the travel insurance carrier, and that claim must be approved and covered.

4. Call IMG to pre-certify and begin the Guarantee of Payment Process. This must be done within 48 hours.

In order to successfully file a claim, be sure that you gather all documentation from your treatment, including (but not limited to) lab work, test results, x-rays and scans, doctor's notes, itemized invoices and bills with diagnostic codes, and proof of payment.

claims for reimbursement.

We have found that setting up an online account with your insurance carrier and submitting your claims directly to them is the easiest and most efficient way to submit a claim.

You have 90 days from the time of incident to file a claim with your insurance carrier.
