Entry Requirements for countries: Countries may issue requirements for travelers to obtain medical coverage to enter their country. You may check requirements here at the: US Travel Bureau

Medicare: Benefits are not typically provided outside the U.S. Although some Medicare Advantage plans and Medigap plans might offer some international medical benefits.

We offer two types of coverage and each plan has its own unique benefits.
Pair both plans together for a full package of benefits.
1. Travel Medical
  • High medical limits for those age 0-69.

  • Emergency Medical Evacuation.

  • Coverage that follows you home (Continuation of Care).

2. Trip Cancellation
  • Medical benefits that do not diminish based on age.

  • Reimbursement for lost trip costs for many situations of peril.

  • Trip Interruption benefits (while on your trip).

NOTE: Travel Medical insurance is available at a standardized flat rate of $3.55 a day, whereas Trip Cancellation insurance requires individualized quotes.
Special Statement for Israel:
For all medical coverage plans purchased with Israel as the destination country, losses due to, arising from, or resulting from the conflict in Israel are not covered. The Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit is not currently available for any plan with Israel as a destination.
These plans cover claims for unforeseen illness or injury unrelated to the hostilities, but as always, all claims are subject to all terms and conditions of the policy wording.
 

Travel Medical

IQ Gold Plan (including COVID-19 Coverage)

Coverage is available for ANY international travel whether it’s a vacation, cruise, business trip, educational exchange, mission, or other. Purchase travel medical coverage for any international trip.

This is not a comprehensive plan for pre-existing conditions but instead a plan for first-time medical needs that arise while traveling on that specific trip, whether a new illness or a new injury.

This plan has a flat rate of $3.55 per person, per day.

It provides coverage for new accidents and new sicknesses. Highlights include:

  • $0 deductible with up to $1M in medical coverage.

  • Benefits for medical maximum amounts:

    • Ages 0-69 max limit $1,000,000

    • Ages 70-79 max limit is $100,000

    • Ages 80+ max limit is $20,000

  • Medical benefits include emergency room, out-patient, hospital room & board, ICU, and surgery.

  • COVID is covered and treated as any other travel illness including up to $3,000 in quarantine accommodation benefits to help offset unexpected hotel costs due to a doctor-ordered quarantine.

  • 12-Month continuation of care benefit that can follow you home to provide continued benefits for up to a year.

  • Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of mortal remains.

* Please note, this plan does not have any benefits for travel delay or trip cancellation.

Trip Cancellation

This type of coverage offers cancellation, interruption and travel delay benefits as well as some travel medical coverage.

Coverage is available for domestic & international travel whether it’s a vacation, cruise, business trip, educational exchange, mission, or other. Purchase trip cancellation coverage for any trip.

Our three plan options will provide varying levels of medical coverage and all include benefits for cancellation and travel delay. They can help cover the cost of your non-refundable expenses if your trip is canceled and those reasons fall within the carrier’s “Covered Peril Reasons”. 

Reasons for cancellation and interruption can include:

  • Sickness, injury, or death of you or an immediate family member

  • Medical advisory to cancel trip

  • Default of the travel provider

  • Natural disaster

  • Terrorist incident

A Pre-Existing Medical Condition exclusion waiver is available on the iTravelInsured SE and iTravelInsured LX Plans. Pre-existing medical condition exclusions will be waived if coverage is purchased within the Time Sensitive Period, within 20 days of any down payment for any trip-related costs.

Cancel For Any Reason: This option allows you to cancel your coverage for any reason if canceled no later than two days before your scheduled departure date. (Excluding Israel)

If you desire to add the Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit, here are a few things to be aware of:

  • This benefit is an additional premium.

  • This purchase option is only available if purchased within 20 days of any down payment for any trip-related costs.

  • This benefit is only available on the iTravel LX plan. – (See brochure below)

  • This benefit will pay up to 75% of your eligible non-refundable expenses.
