As we close out another year of sending people into the world, we are reflecting on a core truth of our work. Duty of care is more than a policy document. It is an active commitment to the people you lead and the loved ones you send.

 

In 2025, the landscape of international travel reinforced that preparation and responsiveness are not optional. Whether you are a director managing a large student group or a solo traveler heading out on a personal journey, high-pressure moments demand more than just coverage. They require a partner who provides clarity, calm, and human advocacy when it matters most.

2025 by the Numbers: Duty of Care in Action

This year, MissionSafe worked alongside churches, schools, and nonprofits to support travel that spanned continents, generations, and callings. Our priority was to ensure that every traveler was supported financially, emotionally, and logistically.

Here is what that support looked like in 2025:

  • Coverage Management at Scale: The MissionSafe Service team managed the enrollment and education process for 2,452 group trips and counting. From securing group policies to helping families understand their coverage limits, we ensured every traveler had the right plan and the right information before, during, and after travel.

  • Global Reach: Our travelers ventured to more than 55 countries, from major urban centers to remote field locations.

  • Generational Impact: We protected travelers ranging from one week old to 95 years young. This wide range proves that age is no barrier to impact when safety is prioritized.

  • Human-Centered Advocacy: We managed 360+ claims. Our team provided real guidance to navigate complex medical systems so travelers and their families were never left to figure it out alone.

  • Trusted Partnership: We achieved a 100% client happiness score, a testament to our white-glove service model.

Beyond Coverage: The "Leave Your Mark" Grant

We believe that our role extends beyond risk management. We are deeply invested in the mission of our partners. In 2025, in partnership with IMG, we were honored to award thousands of dollars to our Leave Your Mark grant winners.

Looking Ahead: New Resources for 2026

As we move into the new year, our focus remains on preparedness through education. We are excited to launch new tools designed to help leaders and individual travelers stay prepared before a crisis ever happens.

  • New, real-world resources sharing practical lessons and guidance for leaders
  • Expanded use of the Traveler’s Toolbox and Passport Sticker, making support easy to access in real time through a simple QR code
  • Increased education and preparedness content to strengthen duty of care and reduce confusion before and during travel

Year-End Office Availability

As you finalize your year-end plans, please note that our office will be closed December 31 to January 2 to allow our team to ring in the New Year with their families.

  • Note for Travelers: Coverage can still be booked anytime through the self-enrollment link on our website. You can enroll yourself or your team even while our office is closed and receive immediate access to coverage information.
