Leave Your Mark 2026 is here: Your Story Could Make a Global Impact

Written by Sydney Drye | August 11, 2026

Whether you are repeating for your first mission trip, leading a nonprofit organization, or serving your local community, your story has the power to inspire others.

The Leave Your Mark Grant, presented by MissionSafe and IMG, is officially open, and this year’s contest is looking for individuals and organizations who want to make a difference in the world.

One of the most inspiring parts of the Leave Your Mark Grant is seeing how recipients use the funding to expand their impact. Megan Parham Mwenda shares her story of serving as a full-time missionary in Kenya.

For the past several years, Megan has lived and served in Kenya, working alongside many girls, helping provide them with possibilities for education, care, and hope. Her work goes far beyond fulfilling immediate needs- it's about building relationships, creating stability, and investing in futures.

In her interview, Megan explains that every day looks a little different. Some days are spent working directly with children and families, while others involve supporting community programs, organizing resources, or simply being present for those who need encouragement. No matter what the day brings, her mission remains the same: to serve others and create a lasting difference faithfully.

Megan's story acts as a reminder that missions don't always look the same. Some people serve overseas, while others make an impact in their hometowns; some lead nonprofits, churches, or outreach programs. While others volunteer wherever help is needed. What connects them is not where they serve but why they serve

That is why the Leave Your Mark Grant was created.

When you apply, you don't need to have the biggest project or most polished presentation. What matters most is sharing your story honestly. Please tell us what you're passionate about, who you're serving, and how grant funding would help make an even greater impact.

Applicants can choose to submit either a written essay that is up to 500 words or a 1-2 minute video essay sharing your story.

If Megan's journey has inspired you, imagine the impact your own story could have. Applications for the 2026 Leave Your Mark Grant are now open. Share your mission, tell us why it matters, and take the next step toward making a difference.

Apply today and leave your mark.
