Still a student herself, 2024 Leave Your Mark winner, Ella, shows us that giving back isn’t defined by age or geography. We all have the opportunity to meet needs right where we are. Every Friday, she spends her evenings in one of the most at-risk neighborhoods in Fort Wayne, Indiana, running a Kids Club that provides food, activities, and encouragement for children in need.
“We gather the kids after school, play games, and put on fun skits. We provide snacks, supplies, and even hygiene kits. Our goal is simple: to give these kids a safe place and show them they matter.”
Despite the area’s reputation as one of the city’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods, Ella’s Kids Club provides a safe haven filled with joy, snacks, and encouragement.
